Luthier in Amsterdam
My work began in 2017 with an attempt to modify an electric bass. The experiment that ultimately redirected me toward repair and setup.
While studying Jazz Double Bass at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam, my focus shifted toward a central question:
How can an instrument truly serve the musician?
Through bridge adjustments, soundpost work, nut fitting, and varnish refinement, I developed a deep sensitivity to resonance, response, and structural balance.

My approach is simple:
The player should not adapt to the instrument.
The instrument should be set up for the player.
I work from a performer’s perspective, shaping each instrument around the musician’s touch, posture, and sound. Instead of forcing players to adjust to standardized setups, I focus on building and modifying instruments that respond directly to the individual performer.
Small details: string height, balance, response, resistance, and physical ergonomics can dramatically change how an instrument behaves. By carefully adjusting these elements, the instrument becomes an extension of the player’s body rather than an obstacle to overcome.
The goal is not only technical precision, but a setup that allows the musician’s natural playing to emerge with clarity and control.
Feel free to contact me if you have any question/request.
I would love to hear your story.
